there’s a floor
Well, hardwood is in! Now they’ve got some sanding to do
It’s a really beautiful maple floor – I think it looks really good. Some close up shots are in order – you can kind of see the pattern/grain in the wood. Steps remaining for the floor are things like sanding and varnishing – maybe a light stain, who knows. I rather like this color
Bathroom tiles are coming along nicely – the remainder of the shower area that was missing tiles has been filled in. The bathroom floor is also being put in.
Those were all from Friday – the following are from today (Monday morning). You can see in the first two pics that the floor is raised up a significant amount from before – and we’re trying to figure out how to deal with that height.
Today, baseboards went in, and some of the problematic seams on the walls and a missing portion of the ceiling popcorn were fixed.
spread it evenly across the wall
The bathroom is the newest modification to the condo today. Yesterday, I posted pictures of progress from the prior days, where the bathroom only had waterproof concrete slabs. Today, the original piping was torn out and replaced with new copper and a new valve (yey). I’ve also got the tile in and some nice accent mosaic tiles that I rather like. It looks a bit dark, but hopefully when things are in it will contrast and be pretty etc etc.
Photo update for day 0, 1, 2, and 3
Today’s day 3 – not much has happened from yesterday. More gaps were filled in with subfloor, and more tiles were torn out. The shower boards are now put in, and next is to waterproof it and tile them. This work goes pretty fast, and its kind of interesting too!
