A haiku a day keeps Byron sane. Sort of.

Day 08 : A photo that makes you angry/sad

Previously: Day 07 : A photo that makes you happy

zhejiang-china-brick-workers-tie-up-their-children-07[1] I read Chinasmack, a website that translates forum threads that are popular in China into English. This is one of their photos for the article “Children on Leashes Tied to Walls”. The description is that many brickmakers tie their children to the walls because their parents don’t have time to watch the children, but they are afraid that the children will get injured form the machinery.

These children are tied nearly 10 hrs a day.

I guess its just sad think about what life is like in other parts of the world, and how lucky we are to grow up in this world.

The leashes are terrible, but I can’t help but to think of those parents who go on “walks” or to public places with their children on leashes.

I guess both of them are the same – they don’t want the kids to run around and get underfoot. Though I think in that case, going on walks is worse because you have other options, right?
