A haiku a day keeps Byron sane. Sort of.

Day 05 : Your favorite quote

Previously: Day 04 : Book you’re currently reading

So quotes are a little tough for me, since I actually don’t really have “favorites”. However, two quotes stick out to me, mostly because they are on my Facebook profile (welcome to the age of Facebook memories).

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you, but because, in that brief moment when the coin is in the air, you suddenly know what you are hoping for.

So this first one was something that showed up on Lifehacker, i think. I starred it in my Google Reader. Now, I haven’t actually implemented the suggestion, but what I got from it really was just that I need to truthfully answer myself what I want. It’s a work in progress.

One thing I should have warned you about, You should have written down. I am also a riddle. And when you solve the last of my puzzles, like a knot untied , I will cease to exist. Loki will disappear forever. You are my vanishing point. Catch me if you can.

The second quote is a lot more casual than the first. It’s from (product placement beware), Microsoft’s Vanishing Point Game (link) that was used to help launch Windows Vista. The main character of this alternate reality game is quite mysterious, and you learn more about her as you solve the meta puzzles in the game.

The actual video that the quote is from is linked here. It’s really cool, and it used the Bellagio fountains for the game launch at CES 2007. The winner of the game was to go to space, but I think he chose to collect the money instead. The winner of the meta puzzle got her name engraved on 1000 AMD Athlon 64 FX chips.

image Pretty cool, huh?

Also! I am thinking of buying a domain name for this site, so I don’t have to piggyback on my cousin’s domain. I need suggestions! Let me know what you’ve got.
